Vintage Marketplace unites with Modern Melamime
Welcome to our second blog of TableArt‘s Reading Terminal Market series.
If you missed our blog on yesterday, you can still see all the brilliant details
of Izzy’s Marketplace at Reading Terminal Market – Part 1.
Just a quick recap, while the kids were having a great time
in one section of the Reading Terminal Market, the the adults were celebrating
in another portion of Philadelphia’s historical marketplace.
The Izzy’s Marketplace logo, designed by Two Paper Dolls,
was the consistent branding for the evening used throughout both spaces.
The flowers and the containers reflected the individual environments.
Modern melamime was used for the kids and vintage metal was used for the adults.
As you will see, containers can change the ordinary to extraordinary.
When Kathy and Jamie saw the French Bull tabletop collection in NYC, they knew it would be perfect for Izzy’s special celebration. Gerber Daisies popping out of wheat grass designed in striking modern melamine containers looked fantastic on both linens and stainless steel.
Designer Jackie Shapiro started the French Bull in 2002 out of a desire to create homeware products for design conscious consumers at accessible prices. Ironically, Jackie Shapiro children’s clothing collection, featured in top stores such as Henri Bendel’s,
Saks and Fred Segal is under the label of “Izzy“.
How amazing are these metal vintage containers!
The textures of the different flowers, the varying heights of the containers and the graphics on each metal containers all looked incredible trailing down the length of the adult tables.
Each container was custom designed to coordinate with the individual coloring.
So, where did these great containers come from???
Here is the part when we get to share with you that Izzy’s Mom found them on EBay! That’s right… Ebay and Overstock.com are great resources for unusual containers.
Once the event is over, you can sell them back.
