(Brandywine Valley Talent) is the frontrunner in Philadelphia-based full service live entertainment companies. We recently attended a BVTLive! showcase with the Sid Miller Dance Band and Strangers, check out what we thought!
Sid Miller Dance Band
This band has so much energy! If you want your guests up and dancing, or if your audience needs a bit of encouragement, this is the band you need to hire. The three vocalists and experienced band (12 pieces total!) generate a lot of excitement in a crowd, playing upbeat versions of classics like Jackson 5, Spice Girls, Tom Petty, and much more. Did we mention their stand out brass section? Skillful and versatile musicians ensure there’s never a dull moment.
The Sid Miller Dance Band has been entertaining special events and parties for over 25 years, with most of the same members for the last decade. Sid will always be at your event to lead the band and coordinate with the other vendors to ensure everything goes perfectly. He’ll meet with you in advance to go over your song choices, they have over 500 songs to choose from and will learn up to 3 new songs for your event if something you love isn’t on their list.
Notable people and events the band has performed for include: R&B Foundation Awards Party honoring Stevie Wonder, Patti Labelle, and Smokey Robinson; Tina Fey’s wedding; and President of the United States, George W. Bush. In addition, for the last three years the Sid Miller Dance Band was named one of the best party bands in the country by Modern Bride magazine!
Strangers
What do you get when you mix modern pop, swing, jazz, rock & roll, and awesome vocals? One of the top dance party bands in the area! Strangers, comprised of three vocalists, a 3-person brass section, keyboardist, guitar player, and incredible rhythm section, play a variety of music including songs from Taylor Swift, Whitney Houston, ABBA, and other music you’ll just love to dance to!
Rich Hall, keyboardist, professor at the University of Arts, and music director for the band, has set up a fool-proof set for fun and energetic entertainment for your event. Great for guests and audiences of all ages, the wide assortment of songs and the infectious energy of the vocalists will ensure everyone in the room will be on their feet. Plus, the brass section might even make a surprise appearance in the audience to really get the crowd going!
Notable event performances include: Alex’s Lemonade Stand’s Annual Lemon Ball; FOX29 Salutes the Military; Philadelphia Flyers Wives Fight for Lives Carnival, and many Philly galas, country clubs, and charity events.
